Some people who come to this blog may be curious to know what on earth a "seeing eye nerd is" Other than being slightly offensive to seeing eye dogs(who are helpful and provide a service much greater than this blog could ever hope to accomplish) it is the term you give someone who helps you with nerdy, geeky, techy things when you are completely out of your element.  Everyone has used a seeing eye nerd at one point or another.  It may have been when you were a child and asking your older brother how to start up the ol' NES(1) ; or later in life asking the kid next to you in math class how on earth he or she was able to write hello(2) on the calculator. Either way, we all have needed an expert(3) to help guide us through the seedy underbelly of the tech and nerd underworld(4).If you are reading this, chances are you have been the seeing eye nerd to someone; and, to a number of you, it may be more-or-less an unpaid full time job to be the techy voice of reason to grandparents, moms, dads, younger siblings, friends, that cute girl you know, that cute girl you wish you knew, or even complete strangers in Best Buy.

Like they said in Spider-Man over and over and over and over ...and over again(5) “With great power comes great responsibility”. The same is true for nerds. If you know how to do something on a computer, you better expect your friends and family to hijack your brain and have you help them. If you know anything about T.V’s, phones, mp3 players(6), and you are in a best buy or Fry’s Electronics, you will probably be asked a number of questions that you will be assumed to know off hand as if they had just asked you what time it was(7). A well prepared seeing eye nerd of course will have a smart phone handy and be able access the “go to” secret weapon for tech support(8).
